Refugee is a foreigner (a citizen of other country or a person with no nationality), who can't use protection of his own country because of experienced persecution or fear of future persecution in his country.This victimization may be concerned with race, religion, nationality, pecking order or political views.

What is additional protection?
A foreigner is given additional protection if he doesn't have a refugee status and can't go back to his origin country because of fear of being tortured or unhumanically treated, his major human rights will be at risk because of common violence or warlike conflicts in his country.
What is temporary protection?
Temporary protection is a form of security, which is granted after the decision of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania to a large group of foreigners, when their affluence turns massive. A single foreigner can't be granted with such protection.
State's Support for those who Took Refuge
If you took refuge at the Republic of Lithuania you will be granted with state's support at Foreigner's Registration centre up to 6 months from the residence permit issuance day (it may be extended in some cases up to 12 months, or up to 18 months for those withs special needs (for example, disabilities)). State's support can be given for 12 additional months after settling in municipality territory. This support can be issued only once. In order to receive state's support you must declare your income and capital.
